High Times Cannabis Cup for Politico

High Times Magazine held one of its Cannabis Cup celebrations at the Paiute Indian Reservation located 45 minuted north of Las Vegas. Event organizers weren't sure if the event would be shut down after receiving threatening letters from the Feds. With the new presidential administration taking office, no one was quite sure how they will react to states making marijuana legalization laws that clearly contradict the Federal Government's stance. The event was healed without any intervention.

Tim Cloninger for Golfdom Magazine

Tim Cloniger, Superintendent of The Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas, recently devised a plan to reduce irrigation by 40% at the course. This is no small feat in the desert where water conservation is an important goal. We met early in the morning for the shoot and drove around the very scenic course for the photos. I used one strobe with a beauty dish. It was nice to visit one of Las Vegas' best golf course.

Cigar Boss Fernando Domínguez of Imperial Tobacco for Cigar Aficionado Magazine

Smoking always looks cool, so I am always excited to get assignments where people are smoking. I recently had the opportunity to photograph Fernando Domínguez of Imperial Tobacco. We met at the Montecristo Cigar Bar in the Mirage. During the first have of the meeting I shot his interview with the writer David Savona. During the second part we took some portraits around the bar. I used one light with a beauty dish turned all the way down so I could also get the available light.

Las Vegas Running Tours for Runner's World Magazine

As a sometimes runner, I am lucky enough to have Las Vegas Blvd, one of the most famous running routes in the world, right down the road from my house. Las Vegas Running Tours offers locals and tourists guided tours and fitness programs. We decided to meet near the sign and make our way up The Strip from there. I kept one light manned by an assistant and used the morning sun as another light source.
